Integrated pest and disease management company, Gowan, is ramping up its presence in the biologics field.  It’s established a dedicated business unit and purchased the remaining shares of EcoFlora Agro SAS, around which Gowan’s global biological business will be built.

EcoFlora is a Colombia-based company founded in 1998.  According to a Gowan news release, the brand is a pioneer in the development of plant (botanical) extracts for effective and sustainable crop protection.  Jim Petta has recently joined Gowan as the new president of the EcoFlora business unit. He comes to the position following senior roles at ICI/Zeneca, Syngenta and Valent USA.

Gowan Company, L.L.C., is based in Yuma, Arizona and is a family-owned developer, registrant and marketer of crop protection products, seeds and fertilizers.
