Death at cranberry farm

A 35-year-old employee of Quebec’s ministry of agriculture, fisheries and food  (MAPAQ) died in an accident while filming at La Perle Rouge Farm, a cranberry operation in Shawinigan. That’s about halfway between Montreal and Quebec City. Her scarf got caught in moving machinery.

This tragic accident underlines the importance of safety during the busy harvest season. Take a few moments to inspect machinery and review on-farm safety practices with staff.
